Hi. I’m Luke.

I’m a creative handyman in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

I build websites, design marketing collateral, and create brand identities for small businesses, non-profits, creative agencies, and entrepreneurs.

When I’m not working, I’m writing a detective novel about cults and artificial intelligence; training as a boxer (hope to be sparring by the end of the year); and/or fending off Üni’s latest attempt on my life. (That’s our murderous cat.)

Thanks for stopping by!

a nice thing someone said about my work

Luke was so easy to work with, very interested in capturing who we are and putting that essence into a new logo and website for the St Paul Bagelry. Not only does our website function so much better, it has added revenue to our business with the new functionality. We love our new logo so much we designed the front of our new location entirely around the new logo. And we couldn’t be any more thrilled with how it turned out.Peggy Teed & Dodie Green, Owners of St. Paul Bagelry

What I Do

I have a broad creative skill set—I can code, design, write, plan events, etc.—but I primarily work in three disciplines: web design and development, graphic design (print and digital), and brand identity.

Check out my work:

How I Work

You’ve got to do good work but it’s important how you do your work, too. To that end, I strive to be:

Responsive & Clear

I do my very best to respond to all emails or calls within 24 hours, in plain English. I’ve found that jargon (DPI, SEO, PHP, etc.) doesn’t mean much to many people. I do my best to keep it as simple as possible.

Flexible & Willing

Your email signature isn’t working? I’ll look into it. Need a small digital ad? Send over the dimensions. A new website? I can do that, too.

Cheerful

We’re only here on this bright blue ball for a handful of decades—we might as well make it pleasant for other folks, right?

another nice thing someone said about my work

We have worked with Luke for a few years now. He has helped us do two redesigns of our Just World Books site, designed a completely new site from scratch for our Just World Educational site, and has implemented numerous small design tweaks at our request along the way.

He has always been a pleasure to work with. He has found out what we want done, given us good options, and provided the training and info we’ve needed to do nearly all of our own updating for both sites… all in a timely and friendly way.Helena Cobban, Founder of Just World Books

Web Design & Development

I’ve been designing and building websites for nearly a decade. Most of the time, I take clients from concept to completion. We begin by getting a holistic understanding of your organization: your mission, who you serve, your current pain points, your competitive advantages. Then we figure out what we need the website to do.

I also provide maintenance and repair services for existing websites.

one more nice thing someone said about my work

I’ve worked with a number of web guys and none come to the table with the combination of talents Luke does: easy to work with, responsive, an eye for visual harmony, and the capacity to see the project through to completion.Ross Nervig, Communications Manager at Avenues for Homeless Youth

Graphic Design

I’ve been a print and digital graphic designer for more than eight years. I’ve created labels for jam and billboards for restaurants and a lot of stuff in between. I enjoy the challenge of molding my approach and aesthetic to my client’s brand, to get inside and understand how it ticks.
